Fresh out of rehab and into the real world, Roxie is thrown into the deep end of despair and temptation. Whilst in rehab, as well as recovering from her demons, there’s one thing she knows for sure. That Mason is the man for her but she fucked it all up in the arms of Joe. Now she needs to fix what she broke, if only Mason would just listen to her. Instead he flaunts women in her face and ignores her every try. Unfortunately for Roxie, in anger Mason points Joe in her path, not knowing the danger he has put her in.
Thankfully, she has much needed support from her girls and it’s not long until they reveal her hidden secret. The burden of it tears Roxie apart and on top of the buried addiction to alcohol, constant blackmailing and worry from Joe, everything is revealed in a bloody mess.
Torn between the right path and the wrong, can Roxie fight her daily craving for the bottle and heal from her scars? Can she escape from the greedy hands of Joe safely and will Mason finally give Roxie a chance to beg for his forgiveness and have one last and final chance?

I see Mason is standing inside, surrounded by the guys, but what I’m not prepared for is the half-naked woman standing at the top of the stairs when I walk inside. “So I see it’s true.” I cross my arms over my chest. “Rox, this isn’t what it seems,” Mason starts, but I give him a look. “Really, Mason?” He doesn’t say anything else, and that tells me everything. I try to calm myself down, because this is hard for me to see. Fresh out of rehab, and I’m already forced to see this shit. I was counselled to accept responsibility for my own downfall, so I try my best to calm my rage. “I don’t see why you had to bring her out of all people, Mason,” Crystal scolds. “This has nothing to do with you!” The girl, Natasha, shouts down to her. “Bitch, this has everything to do with me! You’re messing with my family!” Crystal shouts back. “Chris...” Booker warns, and I don’t miss the odd look Tate gives him. I look up at Natasha, and it hurts to see how skinny she looks. I have curves, a big bust, and here’s wannabe Barbie looking down at me like she’s the shit! That just pisses me off! I’ve gone through so much bullshit lately, and I’ve worked so damn hard I don’t need Natasha looking down at me. But still, I need to reign in my anger; this all comes down to me. If I hadn’t slept with Joe, I doubt my depression would have spiralled like it did. Maybe we wouldn’t be here right now, maybe I would be at the top of those stairs looking satisfied with myself. For me to start screaming and shouting right now is something I don’t want to do. Nor should I. “You need to get your skinny ass out of here, so go jump in your little Barbie car and fuck off!” I direct up at her, and I hear laughter behind me. “Rox,” Mason warns me and I turn to glare at him. “Don’t even fucking talk to me right now! You gave me shit yesterday for what I did, and I pay for that every-fucking-day, yet here you are, sleeping with sluts like it’s no big fucking deal!” I take a step closer to Mason. “I know we’re not together anymore, but seeing this so quickly after talking to you yesterday is fucked up. I thought we could maybe sort through this, because there’re still things we need to talk about, but I guess there’s no point now.” “Come on, guys,” Tate says, ushering everyone out. I stop them, “No, stay. I’m going now anyway.”

QUEST FOR GRAY IRONBARK: THE WAY OF THE WOMBAT #1
Author: AdriAnne Strickland
Release Date: 2/2/15
Publisher: WhomBatz LLC.
Which Way would you follow?
When Laz, a young wombat, goes from playing a game with his friend Kita in their idyllic tribal village to witnessing the nightmare of a Tasmanian devil attack, he reacts in the only way he can: he fights back. He accidentally kills a devil while trying to save his sister, but his sister is still taken captive. To make matters worse, the tribal elders banish Laz, Kita and Zeeg—the three youths who fought back—for failing to follow the way of the wombat.
Frustrated and adrift, the three friends embark on a quest through red rocky deserts and deep eucalyptus jungles to discover their own way. With a cheerful koala warrior as a guide and a wise platypus as their trainer, they hope to survive long enough to find a legendary weapon that could save their tribe and Laz’s sister from the devils. But danger lurks around every tree…
5 out of 5 stars
I received this book from the author for an unbiased review.
I loved this book and read it very quickly. I could not wait to find out what would happen next to Laz, Kita and Zeeg. I really liked the character Laz. He was kind of the underdog in this story, and I rooted for him the entire way. I also could relate to Kita, who is an only child and goes through a lot in this story. There is so much adventure in this story, I found myself wishing I was in middle grade again so I could read it for the first time as a child! Nonetheless, as an adult I enjoyed this book immensely.
I also loved all the different animal types since there aren't any Wombats or Koalas in Texas that I know of. The Platypus brought all the different animals together and was just the kind of role model all of the young animals needed. I honestly can’t wait to read more about these characters.
One of my favorite parts about the book was the names of the weapons they made, they were all unique names. It made the story unique from other stories with weapons that are just described to the reader.
Children: This is a great book for children in middle grade, so any child between 11-15. I still think it is suitable for 10+ and adults, and wouldn't even mind seeing this in a cartoon/movie version.
Parents: I think Parents would love this book because it teaches children a lot about teamwork. I think it would be fun to read with your child and talk about the different themes in the book to see what they learn from it.
This will be a great series to read. I already want to know more about these characters!

She now devotes her time to writing love stories full of humour and naughtiness. My rating 5/5 stars
I received this book from Goodreads First Reads program for an unbiased review.
Despite this book being for Elementary students, I learned a lot myself. I didn’t even know that Harriet Tubman and Susan B. Anthony were alive during the same time period. It is also amazing to know that almost 100 years ago women could not even vote!
I wish I had read this book when I was in elementary. It is very inspiring. It could show a young girl, or anyone of color, not to let what some consider as weakness hold them back!
The illustrations were beautiful and fit the story perfectly. I loved how they had tea and discussed their stories. One page would be about Susan, the next about Harriet; it flowed seamlessly. Also it was a conversation and that helped the book feel like you were there as a third-party listening.
Children: I think this would be great for all children ages 7 to 12. I would really think this book would be excellent for a teacher to read this to their class. Also if someone has a child interested in art, the illustrations alone are worth the price of the book.
Parents: I believe parents would also enjoy reading this story. I learned so much I was never taught in school about both of these important historical figures. It could lead to wonderful conversations between you and your child about history.
